IV. Against The Best

"What's better than best?"

"You know the answer. Having you when I'm not at my best."

"Then, what's worse than worst?"

I was caught off guard. Tilting my head to one side, wondering what hell's bottom is like.
Reality struck me hard when I found the answer.
Heart crunched down as I wish it would never happen.

"Now you say..."

One heavy sigh escaped my agonizingly dry mouth.

"What's worse than worst is losing you when I can't even find myself."
